The Institute provides consultancy in Strategic Management, TQM, ISO certification, customer relationship management and related areas to industries and business organisations. Following were some of the projects handled so far:

Dr. Vanishree Joseph has collaborated with The Institute of Development Studies (IDS), United Kingdom, in connection with the project funded by Coffey International Development entitled “GSDRC”. The consultancy commenced on 6th June 2015 and ended on 19th June 2015. During this period she served as a gender expert for topic guide on Political Economy State-Business Relations
Dr.Radhakrishna Sharma was appointed as a consultant for training the staff and students as well as for implementing leave trading system at Malik Deenar Institute of Management Studies, Seethangoli,Kasargod, Kerala during the Academic year 2014
Dr. G.V.Joshi has been heading the Karnataka State Level Expert Committee for Scientific Evaluation of Costs of Production of Red and White Varieties of Arecanut constituted by CAMPCO, Mangalore and ARDF Mangalore since 2009. The first report of the Committee was submitted to the Government of India and the Government of Karnataka. A long meeting of the Committee was held on 12.11.2013. In the meeting the need for undertaking extensive research on uses (present and possible) of arecanut was expressed.

Dr. R.Krishnakumar undertook a consulting assignment for A-1 Chips and Exports India Private Limited at Coimbatore, Tamilnadu during 2010-2012. A-1 is a leading chips and savouries manufacturer with over 15 exclusive stores across Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Palakkad and Pollachi with a turnover of around Rs 100 crores. The consultancy pertained to study and redesign of process layout for improving operational efficiency. The cost was cut down by more than 30 % from the earlier layout. The second phase included coding of the bins and streamlining their supply chain management system of distribution.
Dr. R.Krishnakumar undertook a consulting assignment for Inter Deco at Coimbatore, Tamilnadu during 2012-2013. Inter Deco is a leading fabrication of ATM units for Nationalised Banks (Tender Basis). The work includes carpentry, electrical and other office fittings including the interior for banks such as false ceilings etc. The turnover of the firm is around Rs 6 crores. The consultancy pertained to study and redesign inventory process management including layout for improving operational efficiency. The audit of all accounting procedures to plug in the pilferages which were estimated to run into few Lakhs of Rupees. The training to the staff was provided to professionally manage the business unit. Streamlining and documentation including the MIS for effective tracking and follow up of payments was taken up.
Coordinated the Project “Evaluation of Working Women’s Hostel sanctioned under the scheme of assistance for the Construction/Expansion of hostel Building for working Women with a day Care Centre for Children” sponsored by Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, 2011-2013.

Evaluation Study of Floor Price Revolving Fund Scheme of Government of Karnataka. This project is assigned by the Karnataka State Agricultural Marketing Board. As a part of the project, the Institute will evaluate the floor price revolving fund scheme of Government of Karnataka with reference to 14 agricultural products identified.

Corp Excel

National SME Excellence Awards: The Institute was the knowledge partner for Corp Excel National SME Excellence Award, which was funded by Corporation Bank, Mangalore. The project involved designing of the application, publicity materials and launching of the national SME Excellence Award, collection and analysis of the data from the SMEs, visits to short listed SMEs and selection of the best SMEs at the national and regional levels.

The Institute got a tremendous response to this maiden venture. The jury comprised Sri Brijmohan Lall, Chairman, Hero Honda Motors Ltd., New Delhi, Sri R Ravimohan, MD and CEO, CRISIL, Mumbai, Sri Suresh Prabhu, Social Worker and Educationist, Mumbai, Sri T N Ninan, Editor and Publisher, Business Standard, New Delhi, Dr Amit Mitra, Secretary General, FICCI, New Delhi, Sri Rajesh Dubey, CEO, SMERA, Mumbai, Dr. Manoj Vaish, President and CEO, D&B Information Services Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, Dr. R H Patil, Chairman, The Clearing Corporation of India, Mumbai, Sri P C Nayak, IAS (Retd.), Bangalore and Dr. NK Thingalaya, former Chairman of Sydicate Bank, Mangalore. The SMEs were evaluated using the triple bottom line concept. The awards were presented at a glittering function held at the Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai on January 22, 2007.

In order to study the effectiveness of promotion of various schemes launched by the Corporation Bank with special attention to Housing finance our institute conducted a study in different branches of the Dakshina Kannada District as Mystery Customer. The findings were recorded and presented to the bank.
